I have never sewn coffee sacks before

R. have sewn some a number of times. She uses them to grow crops. She also sells them so that people can grow food even in small spaces. It is a cool upcycling of coffee sacks. Recently, R. started collaborating with Muto a community organisation that supports vulnerable individuals in Leicestershire. I love them because they grow people who almost stop believing that they will keep flourishing.
I wrote a blogpost to let the world know more about the collaboration.

Have a read : Collaborating with Muto and vulnerable members of the community to sew coffee sacks for food growing - one way to grow confidence

SUCCESS is A TEAM EFFORT

Reading Anna Wintour harsh advice for fashion students resonated with me (click here for full article). I have been working with Sandrine Nyota for now two months. Interestingly, the young designer follow  unconsciously  to the letter Anna Wintour advices and I think they are worth following: STARTING YOUR OWN LINE DOESN’T GUARANTEE SUCCESS Ultimately, this apply to anyone who want to start their own business. Although I will say, success can only be determined by the individual in the driving seat as success for some is different for others. It remains supporting other successes by working for another designer or company can be extremely rewarding as we learn the importance of having a team around us to achieve greater high. Indeed there is not just one road. FOR GOD’S SAKE, FIND SOME GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT Getting a job is just so much more than covering the end of the month, it is also about developing relationships by helping others. At the end, it is a gain ...

Progress Trap

A  progress trap  is the condition human societies experience when, in pursuing  progress  through human ingenuity, they inadvertently introduce problems they do not have the resources or political will to solve, for fear of short-term losses in status, stability or quality of life. ( Wikipedia ) How willing are we to make the necessary changes for our future survival? Looking after ourselves, our health, others, their wellbeing, the planet, its sustainability. Yet, it is so easy to escalate commitment in telling ourselves and others stories which will enhance our status, stability and quality of life. The chase is on against time and oddities. We escape from the unsettling truth that the long term is doomed. Until we burn out - Exhausted from rat race, the running, the short-term goals. Breathe, Slow Down,  Have a nice weekend. And get back in the trap next week.

Dream 1

We haven't seen each other for a while. She appeared next to me on the train. We talked about many things, we laughed and smiled. She was happy to see me. She convinced me to come to her place. She wanted to introduce me to her boyfriend. She wanted me to see her family again. Her partner was in bed when we arrived. He looked terribly like her brother. We went to the living room. Her grandmother, father and aunt were in the room. The lights were off. It was dark. The only light in the room was the TV. My heart lighted up when I saw them. I was happy to see them.
